The Ups and Downs of Blogging

Blogging can be a time consuming and frustrating endeavor.  I know.  I’ve been blogging since 2007 on and off (mostly off) and it has always been a love/hate relationship.

Some of the things I want to write about are not fit for the ‘virtual environment’ I want to create for my blog.  So I have, in the past, created multiple blogs, each with a different point of view.  And in so doing, just created multiple headaches.  A couple of my efforts are:

Both worthy endeavors into which I poured out my best efforts.

Ironically, with both blogs, the act of creation was not enough.  As time passed, and I kept checking my stats, I rapidly became disillusioned with the numbers I was seeing.

Yes, I used the best SEO available at the time, although I never used paid advertising.  I used what I thought were good headlines, I used keywords gleaned directly from Google analytics.

So what I finally determined to be the problem?

I have a VERY low tolerance for frustration…  Time passed, I wasn’t getting the immediate results I wanted, and my enthusiasm died.

This time around, my circumstances are a little different though…

This time I no longer have to concern myself with:

  • a wife who says she doesn’t care about money, but is constantly nagging me to spend less time on the computer and more time earning a living…
  • a regular job (I am unable to work because of health issues)
  • massive depression brought on by loss… (meds are wonderful)

So now all I need is MASSIVE ACTION, and PERSISTENCE!

I will build it, and they will come!
