Sunday Pause (Paws): Photo Fun

It’s Sunday! Time to kick back, relax, and enjoy photos of the beautiful season of fall.

We have had way below average temperatures and it has been rainy and cloudy for weeks. So when I headed out with my new camera on a fall road trip it wasn’t a very ideal day. It didn’t rain but it was still very cloudy and cold. But even so, there were many beautiful trees to see despite the weather.

Along our drive we also saw different animals such as horses, cows, and deer. Read more…

Sunday Pause (Paws): An Animal Is An Animal

It’s Sunday! Time to kick back, relax, and take a moment to think about animals…really.

I recently read about a day created by The Anglican Society for Animals called “Animal Welfare Sunday” which is today. It looks like they encourage churches to speak about animals and God’s intent for them.

I think this is great and I wish there were more discussions and sermons in the church about this.

“God gave us dominion over animals, but I truly believe the human race has misinterpreted this and that he, along with us, is grieving over the treatment of animals in our society.”
(A quote from my ABOUT page)

I have always loved animals. I grew up with…Read more.

Sunday Pause (Paws): Kindness Matters

It’s Sunday! Time to kick back, relax, and…be kind.

We’re not suppose to put on our Sunday best, clothing & attitude, only on Sundays. Kindness should be in the daily things.

I recently received this message from someone at work congratulating me on 14 years there.

“Thank you for all you have given to the program.  We wouldn’t be where we are, without you.  Your creativity and kindness has helped mold not only the children, but positively influenced the staff.  You have been a great role model for others on the staff and the parents, as well!”

I have been told a number of times throughout my life how nice I am. I have a soft spot for those the world sees as “less.” To me…(read more)

Sunday Pause (Paws): It’s A Jungle Out There

It’s Sunday! Time to kick back, relax, and enjoy being home.

After a week of unexpected fees, upset clients, and news stories about animal abuse cases, I was so ready for the weekend. I was thinking of writing a post or a poem to express myself, which you know I do, but I decided to stay on the lighter side and make a little comic about the reality of our society.

Sunday Pause (Paws): Eyes

It’s Sunday! Time to kick back, relax, and look deep into my eyes. You’re getting sleepy, very, very sleepy. OK, so maybe not but I did write a poem about “eyes.” I hope you enjoy. 🙂

When you look into my eyes
What is it that you see?
Am I just “another”
Are you truly looking at me?

The gateway to the soul
It seems eyes can reveal
A bit about each of us
And how we may feel

If you take the time
To slow down, to truly look
You can see that I’m not
A mystery or a closed book

Sunday Pause (Paws): Cats

It’s Sunday! Time to kick back, relax, and for today take a look at how great cats are!

I love all animals, but this past week cats seemed to take the spotlight.

I‘ve been reading the book “The World According to Bob”, the second book by James Bowen about him and his cat Bob. I lost track of the book for a while and had been searching for it looking in and under everything. I even looked in the fridge & freezer in case I put it there absentmindedly. Well I found it…right on my night table shelf by my bed. It had been there the whole time, but that’s another story. 🙂 Anyhow I picked up where I left off and the chapter was about James having a really bad cough. Bob knew when something was wrong and would lay on James and watch over him. James wrote about how he heard cats purrs can help heal and how cats can sense illness and even death. Bob seemed to. Later after James was on medication that he was prescribed for the cough, Bob jumped up on the bed, checked him out, and then jumped back down. He knew James was on the mend.

Happy Sunday to you all. Enjoy your day!
