This Tuesday’s Tale: A Look Back

Today I am looking back at an older Tuesday Tale of mine with some new thoughts and questions. If you have been following me for a while you may have read this post called “A Tender Moment Between A Man And His Dog.” It is about a beautiful relationship between a man (John) and his dog (Schoep). As Schoep got older and his arthritis kept him from sleeping, John would bring him to Lake Superior and hold him until he fell asleep in his arms in the water. That is John & Schoep pictured above. The picture alone speaks volumes!

This is such a beautiful story it is worth repeating. Check out the story on the Huffington Post here.

There are a few points we can take away from this story.

Sunday Pause (Paws): Take A Look Around

It’s Sunday! Time to kick back, relax, and notice what’s around you.

Before I begin this post, I just wanted to mention that each one of these pictures were taken by me over this past week (except for the very last image). Some of them were taken with my phone which takes really bad pictures. They would have just been bad quality pictures if I left them alone, so I had fun playing with them and making each one look different.

Just in this past week I have seen a lot of beauty around me. From the flowers above to the beauty in nature as seen in the photos below.

Please click here to see the photos and the full post.

Happy Sunday! Enjoy the beauty around you.

This Tuesday’s Tale: A House Is Not A Home Without A Pet

The Tale Of Tammy and Her Love for Animals

Many of us can relate to feeling like our house is not a home without a pet. Well this is most certainly true for Tammy.

Tammy is a friend of mine and one of the reasons we get along is our shared love for animals! We have had a number of conversations where we expressed our mutual anger for those who harm animals. I have known her for about seven years or so and just in the time I have known her, there have been many pets she has given a home.

First we have Teesha who passed away in 2008.

Sunday Pause (Paws): Really, Take A Pause!

It’s Sunday! A time to kick back, relax, and reflect.

Many of you know about the loss of my sister. This has been a tough week, going to work, trying to act as if everything is fine. Our family has not had time for closure because we haven’t yet had the funeral. We plan to have it this week, maybe this will help a little.

I wrote a poem for today expressing some feelings I have been having through all of this and have heard other people express they felt when they lost a loved one. I hope you enjoy it.

THE WORLD DOESN’T STOP

The world is so busy
The world is so fast
Treating life like a race
How quickly time is passed

Then one day comes
When you receive a call
That one of your loved ones is gone
And now your heart takes a fall

This Tuesday’s Tale: Remembering Lisa

This is a bit of a different Tuesday Tale. It’s about a human being, but it’s also about a dog she loved.

Our family received some devastating news this past weekend. My sister passed away at only 53 years old. Her name was Lisa.

We are still on an emotional roller coaster and still have the funeral to come. I considered skipping this Tuesday’s Tale post, but writing is a healing thing for me, an outlet.

My sister was very sick, although her death was still unexpected. She had a hard time taking of herself, let alone a dog.

One Lovely Blog Award

Hello all! I was nominated for the One Lovely Blog Award by Crystal from Welcome To Crystal’s Site (Originally Country Living). This is the first nomination for a blogger’s award for me, so I am not exactly sure what this is all about. It seems that it is bloggers recognizing each other and letting them know that you enjoy and appreciate their blog. So if I have it right, then thank you Crystal. I appreciate it.

Many of you know that I started this blog as a project for school while earning my Web Design Certificate. After I finished school I didn’t continue with blogging very regularly, I think mainly because I was so sick of being on a computer (I was on it at work and then at night for school for a few years), but then one day I realized that maybe I was onto something.

I have always considered myself to be, I guess you could say, lost in this world.

Sunday Pause (Paws): A Pause for Healing

It’s Sunday! A time for kicking back, relaxing and taking a break from it all.

I am going to keep this post short & sweet. Our family is going through something right now. It is a sad time for us. I do plan to share about it in an upcoming “Tuesday Tale.” So basically…

This Tuesday’s Tale: Will’s Red Coat

tuesday-tales-little-pic

The Tale of a Scared Senior Dog
Who Met Just the Right Guy

This Tuesday’s Tale is about a book called “Will’s Red Coat.” It is a true story about a senior dog that was given up and needed a home desperately. Tom Ryan, the author of “Will’s Red Coat” kept watch on social media what was happening with Will until one day he decided he was going to give him the home he needed.

He knew he was going to get a senior dog, but he never expected what he saw when he arrived to meet Will. He was thin, frail, almost blind, deaf, and scared of everything. Out of that fear he continually tried to bite Tom.

Tom drove quite a ways to get Will and on the ride back as he looked at Will, he questioned whether he was doing the right thing, mainly out of concern for Will. He wondered if it would be better if he was put out of his misery. Tom told himself on that drive back that if he made it to the beaver pond at the foot of Mount Moosilauke that there would be no turning back. He would care for Will all of the days of his life.

Sunday Pause (Paws): Go Ahead and Just Relax

It’s Sunday! Time to kick back and relax however you’re most comfortable!

Monday through Friday at the office you work hard
Saturday you run errands, clean, and play catch up
So do take Sunday to slow down and rest, even…
If finding quiet means hiding under the covers like this pup

Happy Sunday!

This Tuesday’s Tale: Rocky, Lost After Fireworks

tuesday-tales-little-pic

The Tale of Rocky and His Rescue From the Woods

With fireworks soon to be going off all around, I thought it fitting to share this story about a senior dog who went missing after fireworks last year.

Rocky, a senior dog, was frightened by fireworks and ran off into the woods. His family had been searching for him for days when some loggers found him. They contacted the local Humane Society. Noticing this dog was having trouble walking, a man carried him out of the woods.

Sadly, it turns out Rocky also has cancer. 😦
