Why can’t we understand “free”?

Why do we fall for the “Buy one get one free” marketing hype, but doubt God’s absolutely free gift of salvation and grace?
On my blog, For His Glory, today God gave me some thought-provoking words about what’s really “free”.
If you like, leave me a comment. I love to hear from you when God gives me his words to write.

ARE CHRISTIANS THE LIGHT OF THE WORLD?

Goodmorning everyone, I hope you’re all having a great weekend. I guess most of you are familiar with the Biblical Verse (Matthew 5:14-16) which talks about Christians being the light of the world. This weekend i ask the Question Are Christians Being The Light Of the World? Check out what i think. Feel free to share your opinions concerning this interesting topic.

“Christian” is a lousy adjective

What’s the difference between an auto mechanic and a “Christian” auto mechanic? Between a florist and a “Christian” florist. What qualification does the adjective “Christian” bring to a noun?

What’s a “Christian” supposed to be like anyway? If you walked up to 10 people at church and asked them to define “Christian” to you, do you think any two would agree on what one is?

To me, “Christian” as a modifier is ambiguous. Whether you call someone a “Christian” something, or you call yourself a “Christian” whatever, to me we have much more adequate adjectives we can use other than “Christian”.

What do you think? Do you agree? Let me know in a comment. I’d be very interested in your response.
