Happy Monday bloggers

How do you respond when God closes a door?

Too often I find myself banging on the door. I’ve got all kinds of reasons why I should have what I’ve asked God for. Rather than accept the door closed, I stick around and try to get God to listen to my pleas.
How about you?

See what You think about my post today, “Stop banging on the door!”

What resentment can do

All of us, at one time or another, have probably experienced resentment to some degree. If you’re like most, it was not a pleasant experience. It probably wasn’t a healthy or a pleasant emotion for us to feel.
How long did it last? How did you get over it? Or did you? Do you still have some hanging around in your head?
Harboring resentment is unhealthy for us. Period. It produces only toxic, unhealthy results. In my post on For His Glory Monday, we discuss what resentment can do to us. See if you agree.

Managing Depression

One in five Americans suffers from some form of mental illness, according to the National Alliance for Mental Illness, NAMI.
My blogging friend Secret Angel, herself an abuse survivor, included this video in here blog post, This cloak of darkness; a message to the depressed, this week, It’s about a 20–year-0ld’s battle with crippling depression and her courage to perform her song of overcoming before an audience of millions of people on America’s Got Talent. Her courage brought me to tears.

The first Thanksgiving

They didn’t pile into the SUV, or take a flight and travel over the river and through the woods to Grandma’s house.cornucopia

They didn’t stuff themselves at the dinner table, then nap on the couch or put together their Black Friday shopping list. They didn’t crowd around their 60-inch plasma screen and watch football.
They spent most of their day thanking God for just being alive.

Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

Has anyone seen my groove?…

Has anyone seen my groove?

I need to get it back.

The blue funk I’m in has taken its toll on my writing. I’m not reading my Bible every day, I’m disinterested in many of the things I otherwise enjoy doing. I’ve let emails and comments pile up. I’m experiencing signs of my PTSD again with some mild depression as well.

She defied death and found…

She defied death and found new life

Literally at death’s door, Cindy Martinez did not give up.
She trusted God and found new life.
This is an incredible story of courage and perseverance.
I have no reason to ever complain about anything.
Enjoy. And be blessed.
