Do you read the Bible for information or revelation?
Do you read the Bible for knowledge and Scripture memory?
Or do you read the Bible to ask God to speak to your heart?
I wrote about all this on my For His Glory blog today.
Why not click on over there and see what you think. I’d love to get your feedback.

“Christian” is a lousy adjective
What’s the difference between an auto mechanic and a “Christian” auto mechanic? Between a florist and a “Christian” florist. What qualification does the adjective “Christian” bring to a noun?
What’s a “Christian” supposed to be like anyway? If you walked up to 10 people at church and asked them to define “Christian” to you, do you think any two would agree on what one is?
To me, “Christian” as a modifier is ambiguous. Whether you call someone a “Christian” something, or you call yourself a “Christian” whatever, to me we have much more adequate adjectives we can use other than “Christian”.
What do you think? Do you agree? Let me know in a comment. I’d be very interested in your response.

A conversation Adam had with…
A conversation Adam had with God
Adam: Thank you, God, for making Eve for me. Let me ask You something. Why did You make her so beautiful and helpful?
God: So you’d be attracted to her, Adam.
Adam: Why did You make Eve so soft to touch and pleasurable to be with?
God: So you’d be attracted to her, Adam.
Adam: Then why did You make her so stupid?
God: So she’d be attracted to YOU, Adam.

How to argue with an atheist
How to argue successfully with an atheist
I have a confession: I visit atheist websites and twitter pages sometimes.
I’m not thinking of switching. I like to see what they’re talking about now and again. It’s strange to me how much they talk about God and say they don’t believe in Him. Here’s one of their recent tweets:
“Is God willing to prevent evil, but not able? Then he is not omnipotent.”
We could rip this silliness to shreds; but let’s look at his first few words. He asks the question, “Is God willing…?” I guess he’s wondering. He doesn’t seem to question the existence of God, just God’s ability. Can God prevent evil? Or can He not, the tweeter wonders.
He seems to be asking, “Is God willing? Then if He’s willing, is He able?
This discussion could go South before you could say, “Beam me up, Scottie!” The question mixes logic and emotions, knowledge and beliefs, fact and fiction.
My good friend Pete Bocchino over at his website, Legacy of Truth could address this atheist’s questions with the Truth of the Gospel without offending the atheist.

The times I’ve tried to have reasoned discussions with atheists always seem to drift into a confusing, convoluted quagmire. I have come to what I believe is a wise decision for me.
How to argue with an atheist?
Don’t!
Make every effort to become a friend. Don’t judge them. If and when you become friends, show them the love of Jesus. Let His love flow over your new friend in your interactions with them.
