The Tale of a Scared Senior Dog
Who Met Just the Right Guy
This Tuesday’s Tale is about a book called “Will’s Red Coat.” It is a true story about a senior dog that was given up and needed a home desperately. Tom Ryan, the author of “Will’s Red Coat” kept watch on social media what was happening with Will until one day he decided he was going to give him the home he needed.
He knew he was going to get a senior dog, but he never expected what he saw when he arrived to meet Will. He was thin, frail, almost blind, deaf, and scared of everything. Out of that fear he continually tried to bite Tom.
Tom drove quite a ways to get Will and on the ride back as he looked at Will, he questioned whether he was doing the right thing, mainly out of concern for Will. He wondered if it would be better if he was put out of his misery. Tom told himself on that drive back that if he made it to the beaver pond at the foot of Mount Moosilauke that there would be no turning back. He would care for Will all of the days of his life.

The Tale of Ray and a Battle With Heart-Worm
Today’s tale is from a fellow blogger, Collin, at A Dog’s Life? (Stories of Me and Him). Collin is the author of “Who Said I Was Up For Adoption?” The following tale is actually an excerpt from his book.
In the latter part of May, and in preparation for taking heart-worm prevention medication, we took Ray back to the vet so that his blood could be tested prior to taking the medications. A few days later we had a message on our answering machine asking that we call the vet to discuss the test results. He had tested positive for heart-worm, and needed further tests to estimate how advanced he was. We were both in shock as the ramifications of this situation started to sink in.
Our beloved Ray, who would appear to have had such a shaky beginning to his life and who was now having a fresh start, was soon going to be in a fight for his life. Our beloved Ray who seemed so happy being a part of our family now had a very questionable future. Our beloved Ray had found his proverbial “forever home” but did he have much of a “forever” to enjoy it?

The tale of one very special dog named Ray
as told by Colin
Having been bitten by a German Shepherd many years ago, I was subsequently very wary of dogs in general. Over the course of quite a few years, I did get to meet a few nice dogs and, in November 2013, I made a life changing decision that perhaps there was a space in my life for one!

When I first saw this picture, I was heart broken. The old cliche “a picture says a thousand words” hit me right in the nose. Here is a man “buying” a new puppy for his child while a homeless, starving dog is laying right there on the street. It even looks like it is raining outside too.
There are a few thoughts that I feel can be taken from this picture.

Your Child Is Not Acting the Way You Would Like Them To. Would You Consider Driving Them Far Off Into the Woods and Leaving Them There?
*I ask you to please watch all of the videos to get a full understanding of the message I am trying to convey in this post. The longest one is the first one which is a little over 4 minutes, but worth the watch. The other two are less than two minutes long. So here we go…
You got married, had a baby, and oh what hopes and dreams you have for them. You enjoyed those precious years when they were young and still listened to you. Then, it happens…they become a teenager or a young adult. They no longer listen to you. Maybe they are hanging around the wrong crowd, or have an addiction, or got someone pregnant, or committed a crime. Maybe all you do is fight with them. They cause you so much frustration, money, time. So here you are, decision time. Do you stick with it and try to help them through this the best you can? They are, of course, a member of your family.
The tale of Cuddles told by Amy
Amy and I discussed her sharing a tale about one of her cats. Since she had written a post about one of them recently, we decided I would just share her story by reblogging it here on my blog. This is a great post that includes pictures and a video. Love it!

A Tale of Tank Told by Allisha
I was on the internet searching for pitbull puppies when I came across an ad about some for sale in Iowa MN. I called to see if they were still available and they were. So, one weekend we drove down to Iowa to go look at them and once we got there I fell in love with all 4 puppies that they had.
My boyfriend picked out the puppy that he wanted and I got to choose the puppy that I wanted, so in the end we came home with 2 puppies! One we named Duke and one we named Tank.
We had both of them for a couple of months and then…
