Tuesday Tales: No Longer Weekly

READ ALL ABOUT IT

Hello all. As Cino is reading about above (see full post for photo), I will be taking a break from weekly Tuesday Tales. In case, you do not know what my Tuesday Tales are, they are stories I share about animals on…well Tuesdays. These stories are from people I know, stories from the internet, my own stories, and stories from you out there. I will still do Tuesday Tales from time to time, just not weekly.

My intent is not to back off from my blog, but to free myself from the commitment of having to do a post every Tuesday. This way I can focus on some new ideas I have for the blog and for helping animals.

This Tuesday’s Tale: Coolidge & Effie

The Tale of Coolidge & Effie

Coolidge was one of the rescued kittens from a litter that was found in a field. He was a shy and timid cat, uncertain of his new surroundings, when Lauren and her husband first brought him home. (Lauren’s description sounds similar to what I experienced with Cino when I brought her home). But the patience and love they seem to have had for Coolidge eventually created a beautiful bond.

Sadly, Coolidge passed away in 2015 in Lauren’s arms. There is no replacing Coolidge (as with any animal) but there is a new cat in Lauren’s life now and her name is Effie.

This Tuesday’s Tale Is Your Story: Cinnamon & Shadow

The tale of Cinnamon and Shadow told by Jeanne

Cinnamon was technically my mother’s dog, but I was like the second mother to her. A lady I used to work for had a miniature poodle named Ginger, and when my mother saw her, she wanted one. When Ginger’s breeder had some more puppies, my mother got one. Amazingly, Cinnamon and Ginger had the exact same markings, only Cinnamon was a little bigger. I suppose that’s not all that surprising since their parents were the same, just from different litters (about 2 years apart).

Cinnamon was the first dog we ever had. We’d only had cats before. When we got Cinnamon, we still had one cat, Gizmo (we lost him a few years later at the age of 19). It was a learning experience having Cinnamon, but she was a joy to have. She was such a sweetheart, always wanting to be around you. She got along well with our cats, as well, and especially with Shadow as they practically grew up together.

The tale of Casey told by Allison

One evening our neighbor called us over because she heard a strange sound near one of the sheds. It sounded like a meow. As it turned out, it WAS a meow!

An adorable little gray tabby barn kitten had fallen through a hole in the attic and was trapped inside the wall!
